Vincent Casalaina
Vincent Casalaina has been covering sailboat racing on San Francisco Bay and around the world since 1985. He’s won two Emmy’s for Sports Programming for his co-production of the1985 Big Boat Series regatta at the St. Francis Yacht Club and the 1996 Citibank Regatta series at PIER 39. Since then he’s been team videographer for two America’s Cup campaigns and covered the US Olympic Sailing Trials twice. His current work includes coverage of the American Sailing League’s Championship Regatta series for 18’ skiffs at PIER 39 and a documentary of the 80 year old one design Snipe Class.
All of Vincent Casalaina’s work has been premised on the concept that compelling story lines combined with exciting up close and personal footage of sailboats competing in close quarters will attract a following. Erik Simonson
Erik Simonson is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and has been sailing since 1978. He was introduced to photography in 1984 while living in Lake Tahoe. Relocating to the Bay in1987, Erik combined his passion for all things marine and photographic to launch Camera at Large/Outdoor Action Photography, Marine Specialists. Covering major sailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and surfing events, Erik has amassed a vast photographic library and a wealth of experience in capturing the essence of the moment. His work is published internationally and his clients range from small local businesses to large international corporate concerns. Utilizing his 20' RIB as a primary working platform, Erik continues to build on concept that work can be fun and rewarding, a vision he hopes to expand upon with his colleagues at MMA. Peter Lyons
Peter Lyons combines his passion for sailing and other watersports with his talents behind the camera developed through 25 years of shooting. Peter’s photographs have been featured on the covers and pages of many domestic and international publications, as well as in numerous commercial catalogs, brochures, print ads and Web sites. Ross Tibbits
Ross Tibbits has over eighteen years experience racing on San Francisco Bay. His intrepid interest in sailing is combined by his desire to connect his professional communication skills with the sailing community. Ross’ writing experience includes nine years as an editor, writer and journalist with media organizations as varied as The Log Newspaper and Macworld. In recent years his efforts as a publicist have found success in Latitude 38, Sail Magazine, The Marin Independent Journal, Scuttlebutt and Sailing Anarchy. Over the last three years, Ross has publicized a variety of world-class events for the San Francisco Yacht Club. These include: 2005 and 2007 International Folkboat Championships, the 2008 U.S. Sailing Youth Championship, the 2008 U.S. Sailing Men’s Championship/Mallory Cup and this year Ross will be publicizing the Leukemia Cup for the SFYC.
